The School Holidays have arrived again already! But this time it is different at Alpine Springs as the Snow Tubing Park is closed for the winter and the Ice Rink has been transformed for the summer season of Inline and Roller Skating. The Hot Pools are still operating at normal hours of 10am – 9pm, and the skating rink is now set on the same hours. The next couple of weeks are set to be busy for the Mackenzie region, not to mention that labour weekend is fast approaching.
This labour weekend Twizel is once again hosting the Hard Labour Weekend! A fantastic 3 day event featuring a different challenge on each day. Ranging from the famous Pyramid Run , a 90km road bike to mountain biking the Dusky Trail. Enter online here.
Other exciting things in the Mackenzie region have included an Air Show recently held at the Omarama Airport. This featured Air Safaris and a range of aircraft including glider flights for those interested. The weekend was a great success raising over $4500 for the local community.
Under The Big Sky looms ever closer, you will notice posters for the event going up in main centers throughout Canterbury and even some in Otago. The ticket competition for a weekend for two in Lake Tekapo is proving to be a very popular drawcard with ticket sales going well. Don’t miss your chance to win an escape in Lake Tekapo for two including Accommodation at Peppers Bluewater Resort, Earth and Sky observatory tour, Air Safaris flight around Mt Cook and of course a Hot Pools and Day Spa experience at Alpine Spirngs.
The Day Spa at Alpine Springs is as usual very popular with the monthly specials. Check out the world cup specials on this month.
A sad end to the week here at Alpine Springs as we say farewell to a staff member who has been here since the beginning. Donna has done a fantastic job looking after front of house operations and the administration side of things at Alpine Springs! Alpine Springs wishes Donna all the best for her future endeavors. Thanks Donna!
