Alpine Springs has left winter behind this week with the transformation of the skating rink. The team has been very busy transforming the Ice Skating Rink for the summer season of Inline and Roller Skating. The international size skating rink has been a popular attraction at Alpine Springs since opening and was the original attraction at Alpine Springs. This winter the rink saw Ice Hockey, Curling (even mankini vs bikini Curling), Figure Staking, Ice Discos and just good old fun recreational Ice Skating. Now, after a fantastic effort from the team at Alpine Springs the Skating Rink is up and running for Inline Skating and Roller Blading, a great way to test your balance while soaking up the sun and views of Lake Tekapo.
Amazingly the Snow Tubing Park was still open las week, hidden under the shadow of Mt John the Snow Tubing Park had it’s last day for 2011 on Sunday 2nd October. The Snow Tubing park has been a great success in 2011 with the introduction of the Magic Carpet.
Under The Big Sky tickets are selling quickly, there has been plenty of interest in the event over the past week since tickets went on sale. Aly Cook with The Coalrangers and Eddie Simon with Blue train are set to bring in a good crowd to Lake Tekapo in this inaugural event. You can purchase your tickets online at the official Alpine Springs website.
