Lake Tekapo is well into the first month of spring now, but winter is still holding on delivering a few snow flurries in Tekapo and some chilly temperatures. The Under The Big Sky Concert is coming together smartly as sponsors are secured and details are finalized. Alpine Springs would like to thank Port FM and the Mackenzie Rugby Football Club for their support in sponsoring this event. The local community support has just been fantastic and the event is shaping up to be a very special night! Tickets are scheduled to go on sale to the public October 3rd. The team at Alpine Springs have also been very busy in organisng a stand at the Christchurch A&P Show for early November. Alpine Springs will be promoting itself and Lake Tekapo at the show, offering hand massages from some of our Day Spa staff, and other promotional collateral. It is promotional exercises like these that are helping to build the reputation of Lake Tekapo as a must experience destination.
The past week has been one of the most exciting weeks New Zealand has ever experienced! The Rugby World Cup has brought thousands of international visitors to our shores and the whole country been very hospitable. Alpine Springs has been delighted to welcome numerous rugby fans from all around the world to experience Alpine Springs and Lake Tekapo. The Café has been showing all the games, which have proved to be very popular as people enjoy watching the rugby then relaxing in the Hot Pools for a post match soak.
There is so much planned for this summer at Alpine Springs, the skating rink will soon be transformed for inline skating, the Hot Pools views are changing from day to day and consistently spectacular. If you were lucky enough to be in the Hot Pools on Wednesday night there was an amazing view of a full moon rising over the top of Mt Edwards and over Lake Tekapo! Jaw dropping stuff.
