Well the winter school holidays have been and gone for another year. The town of Tekapo is starting to settle down after the holiday rush but things are still very busy. Unfortunately there has been little snowfall in Tekapo so far in 2012 with the majority of the snow falling north of the Mackenzie Basin benefiting the Canterbury ski fields. Roundhill ski field however has had low enough temperatures to make a sufficient amount of snow and the field continues to be ever popular.
The low temperatures have also allowed Tekapo Springs to make a great base for the Snow Tube Park. The great conditions and school holidays have resulted in some of Tekapo Springs busiest days on record!
Tekapo Spirngs has also recently added to the Tekapo nightlife with the introduction of Wednesday Apres Ski Nights. Every Wednesday over winter from 6pm the Apres Ski nights offers great value dining and entertainment. $20 for a burger and 2 beers/1wine, a new mobile bar, live music, social curling (as an option) and a roaring fire. Enjoy the social atmosphere as the night unfolds at Tekapo Springs. A free shuttle service is available for pick up and drop offs throughout the evening. Book your table now. info@tekaposprings.co.nz
